  3. Two-way communication: Once alerted, Wayne Alarm PERS units allow for direct two-way radio communication between you and our Monitoring Center Alarm Dispatcher. If you’re one of the millions of individuals who receive insurance coverage from Medicare, you may be aware of some of the expenses that are considered essential under the program, such as hospitalization and prescription medication. However, many people are surprised to discover that Medicare typically doesn’t provide coverage for medical alert systems because they do not directly improve an individual’s health.

Fortunately, there is a way you can potentially receive financial support for your personal emergency response system through Medicare.   • Personal Care Attendant: If you live in certain states, you can use this program to help cover the cost of caregiving, which sometimes includes medical alert systems.

All private health insurance plans are different, so some may cover the cost of emergency response systems, while others will not. Some insurance providers also require a doctor’s recommendation validating a qualifying condition before they’ll pay for the device.
