1. Who We Are

Wayne Alarm Systems, Inc. is a Massachusetts-based provider of residential and commercial security, alarm monitoring, fire and life-safety, video surveillance, access control, and smart-home solutions. Our headquarters is located at 424 Essex Street, Lynn, Massachusetts 01902, with additional offices in Woburn and Nantucket, Massachusetts. We operate our own UL-listed central monitoring station.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: information you provide to us directly, information we collect automatically through technology, and information we receive from third parties.

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

We may collect or process any of the following categories of information, including inferences drawn from this information, depending on how you interact with our site, where you live, and as permitted or required by applicable law: Identifiers such as your name, postal address, email address, and telephone number;
Account, service, and premises information, including the location and configuration of your alarm or monitoring system, account numbers, passcodes or verbal passwords, emergency contacts, and authorized users;
Payment information, such as billing address and payment-card or bank-account details (payment-card data is processed through our secure third-party payment processors and is not stored in full by us);
Communications and content you send us, including the contents of quote-request forms, emails, chat messages, text messages, and recorded or monitored telephone calls; and

2.2 Information We Collect Automatically

We may use the information we collect to:

Provide services that you may contract us for, which may include, but are not limited to, install, service, and monitor your security, alarm, fire, and life-safety systems, including dispatching emergency responders and contacting you and your emergency contacts in connection with alarm events;
Respond to quote requests, inquiries, and customer-service and technical-support needs;
Process payments, billing, and account administration;
Send you transactional and service communications, such as appointment reminders, service reminders, system and monitoring alerts, and account notices, by email, telephone, and text message (see our SMS & Communications Policy);
Send you marketing and promotional communications, where permitted, from which you may opt out at any time;
Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and our Services;
Measure and improve our advertising and marketing, including retargeting;
Comply with our legal, regulatory, licensing, and contractual obligations; and
Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, security incidents, and other unlawful or harmful activity.
We may use your personal information to comply with applicable law or respond to valid legal process, including requests from law enforcement or government agencies, to investigate or participate in civil discovery, comply with a court order, potential or actual litigation, or other adversarial legal proceedings.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

Service providers and vendors: with companies that perform services on our behalf — such as monitoring-platform providers, payment processors, IT and hosting providers, analytics and advertising partners, and communications providers — who are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us.
Emergency and central-station response: with our central monitoring station, and with police, fire, medical, and other emergency responders and your designated emergency contacts, as necessary to respond to alarm signals and protect persons and property.
Dealers and subcontractors: with authorized dealers, installers, or subcontractors involved in providing your Services.
Legal and safety: when we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to enforce our agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Wayne Alarm, our customers, or others.
Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our assets, in which case personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
Advertising partners: with advertising and analytics partners as described in Section 6. Certain of these cookie-based disclosures may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under some state laws; see Section 8 for your choices. Our business and marketing partners will use your information in accordance with their own privacy notices. 5. How We Protect Your Information

As may be required by applicable law, we maintain a written information security program and administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure, consistent with applicable law, including the Massachusetts data-security regulations (201 CMR 17.00). Sensitive information transmitted through the Site is encrypted in transit using industry-standard protocols, to the extent reasonably and technologically feasible. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain uses such as targeted advertising or the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We honor these requests regardless of your state of residence to the extent practicable. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Important: You may request that we do not use your personal data for these purposes. Some states may also grant you the ability to learn more about or challenge those automated decisions. Monitoring and alarm-event records may be retained for extended periods to support emergency response, legal, and insurance purposes. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Website.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Site and our Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. The Site contains links to third-party websites and portals, including, but not limited to, online bill pay, Total Connect, Building Reports, and equipment-manufacturer sites. We do not guarantee and are not responsible for the privacy or security of such sites, including the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of information found on these sites. Information you provide on public or semi-public venues, including information you share on third-party social networking platforms may also be viewable by other users of the Services and/or users of those third-party platforms without limitation as to its use by us or by a third party. Our inclusion of such links does not, by itself, imply any endorsement of the content on such platforms or of their owners or operators, except as disclosed on the site.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above and post the revised Policy on the Site.
