Many towns and cities have a fire alarm system in place which is called a municipal fire alarm. In the past, many cities had pull stations across the city and most businesses, and municipal buildings were also attached to this system. These hard wired system sent signals from the building where the alarm was triggered directly to the fire department in that respective city. While the hard wired systems were very reliable, the costs of maintaining them have become tremendous. Costs include both maintaining the wires which could be damaged from broken branches, winter storms etc. and also the costs of having them constantly monitored.
Due to these high costs many cities are no longer maintaining the hard wired municipal fire alarm systems and opting for a radio system. If you do not wish to convert to the wireless radio box system supervised and monitored by the Town, in accordance with the Massachusetts State Building Code, you are still required to utilize a private supervisory system, which may be either a UL Listed or FM approved Central-Station Service.
Now there are new technologies available which do not require the buildings to be hard wired and even allows them to be monitored by a professional monitoring center. The new communication solutions include both cellular and radio networks which communicate the alarm signal to Wayne Alarm Systems UL Listed, FM approved 5 Diamond monitoring center. One of our best selling products is the AES radio.
