Accounting Assistant

Wayne Alarm Systems is searching for a motivated Administration/Accounting Assistant who is an excellent multitasker with exceptional communication and time management skills. Accounting Assistants can expect to assist the CFO with data entry, processing, and recording transactions, updating the ledger, assisting with audits and fact-checking. Day by day will also assist the Vice President with tasks and projects. You should be thorough, accurate, and honest with good bookkeeping skills.

In this position, the administration/accounting assistant should have an understanding of basic Accounting principles and proficiency with computers and software, such as MS Excel and Google Sheets. You should be trustworthy, efficient, and organized.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in month end closing process
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts
  • Communicate and follow up effectively with the CFO and Vice President regarding accounts on a timely basis
  • Answer phone calls in Administration department
  • Meet or exceed monthly performance goals, deadlines and objectives
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
  • Learn all admin positions to provide backup when needed
  • All other projects that arise as needed


  • Must have knowledge and experience working with Excel and Google Sheets
  • Well organized, Results driven, and able to work in a high volume and fast-paced office environment
  • Possesses excellent verbal, negotiation, customer service and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Ability to resolve challenging situations calmly and professionally
  • Capability to work independently and to adapt to a fast-changing environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiar with Sedona Office
  • Accounts Receivable/Payable knowledge
  • Accounting experience

Physical Demands:

  • This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

  • Full Time
  • Monday through Friday
  • 8:30pm-5:00pm
  • 40 hours weekly


  • No travel is expected for this position

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum of Associate Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 1-3 years previous experience preferred
